I just wanted to thank all my readers and extend an invitation to check out my story, “Wasted Meat,” which appears in the latest (Nov/Dec 2019) issue of Gray’s Sporting Journal which is available now at Barnes and Noble. I knew “Wasted Meat” was a special story when I wrote it, perhaps my best. Success, when it happens, always appears easy. But I was perusing my Submittable account the other day and found that my writing had been rejected 94 times and accepted 4, which is not much of a batting average. I write when I can in between the demands of work and family, knowing that, just occasionally, one of my stories will have the wings to leave me.
